After 72 hours of users started complaining about the accessibility issues with the site 4chan.org, Pool, Founder of 4chan.org has confirmed that the site has been blocked on the Verizon network.

Pool just updated the Status board of 4Chan confirming the block on the wireless network only and requested the users who are affected by the block to call and file a complaint with Verizon.

“After an hour and a half on the phone, we’ve received confirmation from Verizon’s Network Repair Bureau (NRB) that we are “explicitly blocked.”

If you’ve been affected by the block, please call Verizon NRB at (866) 298-5373 to file a complaint.

EDIT: If NRB can’t help you, try Verizon Wireless Support at (800) 922-0204.” - status.4chan.org

Loyal user base of 4chan is expected to react aggressively as they did when the site was blocked by AT&T last year.

Verizon updated their Policy Blog stating that the network was under attack from the IP’s tracking back to 4chan family of sites. The post also supported its decision of restricting access to certain sites by saying Verizon’s Users come before anything else and anything that effects these users will be taken seriously.

“We take being the nation’s most reliable wireless network seriously. Seriously enough to protect our customers and our network from malicious attacks, even if we get dinged in the blogosphere. It’s easy to complain about “blocking” when your wireless data connection is stable, fast and reliable. But try connecting to the web from your Droid or Blackberry when attacks slow – and potentially block – use of our network all together” – Verizon Policy Blog

According to the press release situation is under and the restrictions are being lifted as we write this post. The network will the IP’s involved in the attack will be closely monitored to make sure the Verizon network is not subjected such attacks in the future.

We’ve also contacted Verizon PR in Chicago who is yet to get back to us. This post is being left open and will be updated as we receive more information.

Until then bust your brains on /b/

And now it’s quite logically possible that ‘Super AMOLED’ displays will repeat the same.

While Samsung showcased some delightfully fascinating 3D AMOLED displays at CES 2010, not many knew that it would use similar but superior technology to power a mobile phone or such portable devices of such sort.

Yes, Samsung is planning to reveal a smartphone that features a “Super AMOLED” display which should make it the first and one of the best display technologies of its kind to be used in a smartphone.

Allegedly, the SUPER AMOLED Screen of the phone would display 800 x 480 pixel resolution with up to five times better display clarity and 20% better visibility in daylight conditions.

Steering With The Rumors : Samsung Bada OS

This is something that multimedia devices with AMOLED displays considerably fail at, say, like the Zune HD and Nexus One, and interestingly Samsung has a way with it, particularly when it has the Super AMOLED display type up its sleeve.

Featured : Samsung Super AMOLED Display Smartphone?

If all the hype about Samsung Bada OS hitting us soon were meant to believed as true, we may soon be seeing Samsung Bada OS in this unnamed martphone, something worthy to be called ‘first in its class’ thing.

Samsung hasn’t revealed a word about this gizmo but there is a word in the air that Samsung will officially announce or reveal details about this smarphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week, meanwhile we are keeping are eyes locked on at the updates, stay tuned.

Motorola promised to announce about 20-30 Android phones this year and while that promise may take a while to be fulfilled, we feel like trusting a rumor about a Motorola Android Phone that’s been in the rumor mill for quite some time now.

Motorola’s newest handset ‘rumor’ takes the form of Motorola Motosplit which is dual-way slider smartphone. Motorola Motosplit seemingly slides in both landscape and portrait orientations to give you a split QWERTY keypad under the cover .

It’s form factor is something that’s worth the buzz, and it resembles Nokia 5510 in the way the QWERTY keypad splits side ways. Here’s a glimpse of the alleged pictures of the Motosplit followed by what’s-under-the-hood details.

There’s not much about the Motosplit features, but you are looking at a powerful Android phone that is driven by a 1GHZ Snapdragon processor which should make it Motorola’s first Android phone to use a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and it also runs Android OS, which version – we are yet to know.

Featured / Rumored : Motorola MotoSplit

A 4-inch plus or equivalent LCD or TFT touchscreen, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Android Market support, full browser support, a 3.5mm audio jack and other standard connectivity ports should form the rest of the tech specs.

What’s also interesting about the keyboard layout is that small monochrome touchscreens form the keys and labels can be replaced as desired. These may not be tactile, but are designed to be really comfortable at typing.

These keys, when pulled out from one side should act as a numeric keypad and when the sliders on both the sides are pulled, it functions as a ’split’ QWERTY keypad, that’s how the name goes with the technology.

Also, an inclination stand, say miniature kick back stand, aligns the phone just like the retractable legs work for your keyboard, when you are typing on the phone.

The Motorola Motosplit may see its first launch through AT&T somewhere around the third quarter of 2010. Price, date of availability and further technical specifications are yet to surface.

For now, we are trusting the alleged pictures and rumored specs of the Motorola Split (featured above) and the wait for the official announcement shouldn’t take a long route to exhaust, we hope.

Smartphones are viable to grow technical problems with time just as humans are to ill health.

In this case, we are talking about a Blackberry smartphone and if it’s troubling you lately maybe, due to a potentially harmful third party application that you installed unknowingly or something else.

Or if you accidentally manipulated your Blackberry’s settings to something you’d otherwise hate, here is a solution to get rid of all these buggy software problems.

This article will guide you in a very detailed step-by-step instruction chronology to reset your blackberry phone.

Here is how to reset your Blackberry to factory settings. And there are actually two ways to do it – soft reset and hard reset. But before you begin with any of the two, to avoid losing data, try to backup your device data using Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Soft Reset :

To soft reset your Blackberry smartphone, you can either pop out the battery after turning off the phone and then plug in back to restart the device. This will deal with any temporary and minute problems with the Blackberry software.

Resetting Blackberry? Why Not Go The Easy Way

Hard Reset:

To hard reset your blackberry, you must –

Backup all data on your Blackberry phone, if it’s not meant to be lost or wiped out.

Make sure you have no problem with power supply to your PC , or if you are using a laptop, make sure it’s adequately charged (this applies only when a computer to reset your device).

Make sure you charge your battery to avoid permanent device breakdowns in case of shortage of battery power.

Exit all the third party applications like games or instant messengers.

Click-Select the Settings Option (in some case appears just as “Option”) from the Homescreen Menu.

From the Options menu, use your trackball to scroll-down and click-select Security Options.

Now, select and click ‘General Settings’ from the menu.

This should display your phone’s general settings like Number of password attempts, security timeout, etc., etc.,

Click the menu key on the phone (the key with the Blackberry logo just on left to the track ball) and select ‘Wipe Handheld’.

A warning message appears on the screen which should read “ Warning, all application data will be lost! Message service and other services will be turned off.”

If you want to wipe out the third party apps as well, select the check box that appears just below to this message, otherwise, just proceed to next step.

Click on ‘Continue’ to proceed with the reset or cancel if you were just going through the procedure.

This causes the blackberry phone to reset to its factory (default) settings and it must take hardly 3 minutes to make it happen.

It is natural for the device to display blank screen for a while or (and) restart itself after the factory settings have been restored.

At the start up, for the first time, you’ll be prompted to configure basic settings for your blackberry phone, which you may skip, if you plan to do it later.

Another way to reset your Blackberry smartphone is t

iPhone has changed quite a few things around us and a couch is much more productive than it used to be before the iPhone was introduced.

With an iPhone in your hand you can do a lot more sitting on a couch than you could without an iPhone.

Following is the list of 6 iPhone apps that let you connect to your Desktop and accomplish a specific task. Most of these applications work on the local Wi-Fi network only but there is one mother-of-all applications that works on 3G as well!

Let’s take a look at these apps.

Dropbox: Dropbox for iPhone is just an extension to the existing Desktop application. Using this app you can access any and all files in your Dropbox account.

Dropbox app for iPhone stands true to the statement “Access anywhere, anytime!”. Though it does not let you open the files that are not supported by iPhone you can still access important office and other documents, which is pretty useful.

Dropbox is a free application, click here to download.

Remote: This falls into the Lazy-Tech category but super cool for what it does. “Remote” app for iPhone lets you control iTunes running on your computer using your iPhone. You can switch between playlists/songs/artists control the volume on your computer.

Before you start using this application, you’ll have to pair this app with iTunes on the computer. People who’ve used some kind of Bluetooth device with their phones do know how paring works. Once you are paired with the computer, you are all set!

There is no need to be around your computer or even in the same room. As Remote works on your Wi-Fi network, you can control iTunes from anywhere as long as you are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Remote can be downloaded for Free, click here to download.

FileApp: This application turns your iPhone into an FTP server. Once you start the application you can type in the iPhone IP on the PC browser and start dumping files into the folder.

Every file that is placed into the FTP folder is transferred to your iPhone. These files include any office documents, Video files supported by iPhone, MP3 files, etc..

FileApp can be password protected on iPhone which lets you maintain the secrecy and confidentiality of the transferred files.

Installation is effortless, as soon as the software is installed on the PC/Mac and iPhone/iPod Touch it magically starts working.

I’ve used other softwares which try to do the same thing but TouchMouse has to be the best!

It’s digital age and seems like the lock smiths wouldn’t be celebrating this one product at least and curse the launch of an Electronic Key Impressioner that let’s one make computerized lock keys instantly, by mapping the inside of a lock.

Invented by APS, the electronic key impressioner or EKI is a portable and handy device, much like a modern day or digital screw driver in looks with a alignment meter and a control key on its handle and a scanning tip at the bottom.

The scanning tip is inserted into the lock hole and allows scanning tips of various sizes to be connected to it. The alignment of the scanning tip is judged by the digital alignment meter on the handle and control button executes the operation.

The device connects to a computer via a USB cable and uses a ‘unique’ computer software to provide the keycode ‘within a matter of seconds’. Using this keycode, a physical lock key can be designed perfectly in an instance using a computerized key cutter.

Featured : Electronic Lock Impressioner

The Electronic Key Impressioner comes with a full set of most common vehicle lock keyway inserts, a USB connecting cable and the latest lock mapping software and can unlock even wafer locks which do not have a side bar.

While this electronic key impressioner will be available to locksmits and authorized security professionals, it is also being designed to work more efficiently and with wide range of scanning tips to ease the job.

Lost A Key ? Try Digital LockSmith

That means, unlocking locks has never been so easy. But, what if you consider the other side, isn’t it risky that one fine day a locksmith gets to buy this thing as a new addition to his Locksmith tools.

And suddenly in the middle of the night he makes up his wicked mind to walk away with your Mercedes when you are sleeping? Maybe, we are just exaggerating.

There is no word on its pricing and exact market availability but we’ll keep you updated or you can always jump in here for more.

Nokia C Series. Yes, it’s been official for quite a long time now but how about witnessing the launch of reportedly upcoming Nokia C Series phones that allegedly include Nokia C3, Nokia C5 and Nokia C6, just to believe the fact.

In a brief wing, we would say that Nokia C3 is a quad-band GSM phone that features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, a basic camera of course and multimedia capabilities while the Wi-Fi option in Nokia C5 seems to be replaced by HSPA connectivity.

About Nokia C6, there’s nary an official word but it’s presumably a sort of basic Nokia smartphone wearing a candybar design with perhaps about 2.8 inch display and a QWERTY keypad.

Aboard the ship is a 5 megapixel camera with a LED flash, some inbuilt memory, a memory card slot, Bluetooth connectivity, a 3.5mm audio jack, and some S60 OS version. That’s all we’ve for the specs at the moment.

Featured : Nokia C5

Nokia C6, also known as Nokia Mystic maybe announced in the first half of this year alongside with other Nokia C Series Phones.

Featured : Nokia C6

While we are still not aware what the Nokia C Series is all about, there are hopes that Nokia has something interesting and unique about the C series phones.

But what we can presume is that Nokia C series is aimed at low-mid range budget customers, particularly the Nokia C5 and Nokia C6 suggest the same.

Maybe, Nokia is waiting for a good time to disclose, or perhaps it will, at the Mobile World Congress this year.

We’ll let you know as more details surface. Stay tuned.

If this is the case, it is very much legitimate and possible that you fall in love with Android Collectibles, the first of their kind that we’ve witnessed till date.

Thanks to an artist named Andrew Bell who has teamed up with Google to design these Android miniatures.

Android Collectibles are 3-inch replicas of Android (see Android logo) with roating heads and arms and are beautiful enough to adorn your deskspace either in 12 individual pieces or in a blind-boxed pack of 16.

Not to mention, these Android toys have a vinyl coating on their surface. Darknet, Reactor, Copper Bot and Hi-Voltage are the few ones we’ve seen through and each of these bears an interesting design and color skin.

The designer labels these Android toys as Series 01 which means there is more to come your way, and if you can’t wait to have them on your desk, click here to know more about Google Android Collectibles.

The Android bots may not help you develop Android apps nor can they help you with Android lessons that you’ve been seeking privately in the corner of your cabin, but they are pretty adorable and worth the love.

Destined to hit the stores sometime late in February for an undisclosed price , they are are also available for wholesale dealers.
