Google recently announced its roadmap of entering into the OS market for machines ranging from Netbooks to the regular PC’s.

With the growing popularity of not so powerful but extremely mobile netbooks we needed something that was absolutely optimized to run on such machines.

Running vista on these machines is just plain wrong and there can still be something less bulkier than Windows XP that’s currently dominating the netbook
market.

Linux was certainly the first choice of the Netbooks but it certainly cannot match the user-friendly interface of Windows which is why most of the users opt
for a Windows based netbook.

Google is now trying to change that by designing a much simpler and easier interface to accomplish simple and everyday tasks.

While reading the following lines from the announcement reminded me of Palm’s new WebOS which works on the same idea.

Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies. And of course, these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform.

Google is certainly underplaying it by calling its version of OS lightweight which will help users complete simple tasks quickly. In my opinion it will be or will become a full fledge OS that will eventually compete with Windows OS.

If Google does not deliver a fully functional OS which exploit’s the power of netbooks I don’t see how it will take on its competition, Microsoft. Besides if it delivers an OS which only checks e-mails or does the things only a browser is capable of doing then it will actually be wasting the hardware resources available on Netbooks which makes Google Chrome OS less desirable.

Nonetheless it’s a good move on Googles part to identify the fast growing Netbooks as the entry point into the OS market but its success only depends on what it offers.

Google Chrome OS is expected to hit the market in the second half of 2010 and will run on both x86 and ARM chips which is popularly used on Netbooks.

I am sure this announcement has triggered a few high-level meetings at Microsoft to discuss their strategy to counter Google Chrome OS. The moment Microsoft got a little aggressive with Bing, Google put it back on defensive by announcing Chrome OS.

So next time you re-install you machine all you have to do is download one pack from packzoola and all the softwares are automatically installed and also regularly updated.

Well, there is a service that does just that, its called Packzoola!

RadarSync’s Packzoola is a service which lets you choose your favorite softwares from the list of 100’s and create your own software pack.

How many of us are fond of watching 3D movies but wait until our favorite one hits the theatres? Many! No. Almost all of us! It’s the cupidity in human nature that craves for the incessant entertainment experience despite the means that must be put in to achieve it.

Winding up elusive philosophy, let me introduce you to the world’s first 3D Web Camera from Novo, Minoru. Experience the 3D viewing experience right from your desktop or notebook.

The alien-like device puts its “arms” on your screen top or stands on its “legs” on the desktop to hold position while you need to just plug in the USB cable of the device to your system, load device software and get started.

The device has two cameras that actually act as its “eyes” which record an anaglyph – a stereoscopic image like the ones used in 3D movies. You can share the recorded video over Windows Live Messenger, Skype, AOL Instant Messenger, OoVoo, Videora, Windows Movie Maker, Stereoscopic Player and almost all other video applications.

This 3D Web Camera records 15fps videos at 800×600 pixels and draws you a 12” away focus for dramatic 3D images. You can also share the recorded videos with your friends on online networking platforms like Facebook and even upload them on Youtube.

The 3D Web Camera has a special picture-in-picture video or even displays them side-by-side in two separate windows on the screen and lets you easily switch between 2D and 3D modes if the viewing party doesn’t have 3D glasses.

To view the 3D video or images, just put on a pair or 3D glasses that are bundled with the box. It is compatible with Microsoft XP and Vista and is available for online purchase for $89.95 from Amazon.

Click here to buy Minoru online or here to find the closest retail store.

The new Archos Internet Media Tablet will have all the “functionalities of a premium smart phone” as well as it will provide you complete entertainment and “PC-like” web-browsing experience.

The Archos Android Internet Media Tablet will boast a 5” screen with a high resolution display that offers full-width page views for better viewing experience.

What’s internet browsing without flash support? The people at Archos know it better and for the same reason they have been integrating Adobe Flash and Flash Video support in their Internet Media Tablets. So, this one has got it too.

Archos Android - The First Ever Android Based Internet Media Tablet

Plus, you can watch your favorite TV shows and even record them in HD quality without missing an episode right on your Archos Internet Media Tablet and play them back in almost all formats.

If this is not enough, watch innumerous movies from up to 500GB of storage space (against a max of 250GB on Archos 5 and 320GB on Archos 7) or get on-demand access to Archos’ multimedia library. It will take you through 7 hrs of non-stop video playback on one battery charge, so that obviously means improved battery life.

The Archos Android Internet Media Tablet will support 3.5G (7.2MBpS) HSUPA network, so you can still be connected to your workplace or home while losing yourself in the rich entertainment experience at the same time.

Speaking about its form factor, it is not much different from the Archos 5 and Archos 7. It is an ultra-thin tablet (measures just 10mm) that is powered by an OMAP3440 processor based on ARM and DSP microprocessor technology.

The Archos Android will hit the markets on September 15 this year for an undisclosed price.

I remember reading a quote on the web that said – “the world is shrinking into an iPhone” and that seems practically obvious now. Until now, your iPod/iPhone was a great gadget for entertainment where all the fun was trapped into its sleek and glossy 3.5” screen.

But, ever since the iPhone has landed into the mobile market, things have changed and we hear about a new accessory for the iPhone/iPod Touch almost every week.

You can now enjoy a greater and rich entertainment experience from your iPod/iPhone by just connecting your device to a pocket sized projector available through Phonesuit.com.

Let me introduce you to a pocket projector for iPhone/iPod which is termed as “MiLi Pro”. Just nudge your iPod/iPhone onto the MiLi Pro’s dock and it is ready to multiply the fun. It can display pictures and images at a max resolution of 640X480 pixels at 10 Lumens brightness.

You can connect this mini projector for iPhone/iPod to your laptop through the VGA port on its dock or just plug in your camcorder or any other digital player that connects through a RCA port and other such compatible devices that can connect through direct AVs.

That's how it Works!!

It is compatible with iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS, iPod Touch and iPod Classic and uses LCOS, a LED driven micro projector with a life time of 20,000 hours that can produce display up to the size of a 40” screen.

The dock comes with built in speakers that enhance your entertainment experience. The iPhone/iPod video projector lives on the power from the rechargeable and swappable PhoneSuit MiLi Battery which needs 3hrs of charging after a complete drain out.

This mini projector for iPod/iPhone is ideal for business professionals and also for entertainment addicts, precisely for anyone owning an iPhone (except 1st generation iPhone).

It would not be a false prophecy to say that iPhone will soon have the highest score of accessories and applications than any other phone in the market. This iPod/iPhone projector is one cool accessory that you must look out for your iPhone and iPod when it is released this fall.

Price and launch dates are yet to surface. Meanwhile, you can click here to become a member of the PhoneSuit family and keep yourself updated about the latest news from its core.

So, we are talking about Vuzix’s latest wearable display, The Vuzix Wrap 920AV. Yes, Vuzix has come up with a new wearable display that is much more stylish than its predecessors and offers more compatibility to the devices.

Immerse yourself into the world of video entertainment or virtually be a part of the happenings without letting anyone have the slightest idea of your mischief on a 30 degree field of view.

Just put on the wearable display and it will do much more than just making a style statement. You will virtually be exposed to a 60” screen viewed from a nine feet stretch.

It comes with removable noise cancelling headphones that further enhances your entertainment experience. You can live this giant virtual entertainment experience for up to six hours on 2 AA batteries.

You must be now wondering about how is it different from the earlier ones? Well, this one sports a cool ‘sunglass look’. This is Vuzix’s first wearable display that lets you actually see through the glasses (the display lens) so you are still grounded into the reality while simultaneously enjoying the virtual reality entertainment on your wearable display.

The Vuzix Wrap 920AV can be plugged into any NTSC devices or PAL audio/video devices which include Digital Cameras, Camcorders, Cellular phones with video out, Video Game Systems, PCs & Laptops with S-Video, Portable DVD Players, Media Players, iPod®/iPhone and the list continues.

This is not all. Vuzix has plans to launch optional accessories for Vuzix 920 AV like a pair of stereo cameras that is powered by USB and can be used to blend 3D real world and 3D virtual reality to your eyes.

Another upcoming accessory will provide you 6 degrees of freedom head tracking system to rotate your viewing perspective in six directions (that includes forward and backward directions as well).

The Vuzix 920AV will be available this fall for a price which is yet to be officially announced but we can expect is to be priced somewhere around $200 roughly and will be rivalled by Sony’s wearable display which is still under the process.

So, get ready to make a style statement with a touch of technology with the Vuzix 920 AV wearable display or just get bowled over when it is released this fall.

The people at Mozilla have begun to understand your web browsing needs much better – and Firefox 3.5 – the fastest Firefox yet, is an ample proof to it. Yes, Firefox 3.5 Release Candidate 3 (Firefox 3.5 RC3) is already on air and making waves with its improved and faster browsing experience.

The Firefox 3.5 not only renders the web pages faster but also provides a lot of customization and user-friendly options to ease and personalise your web browsing experience.

Here is note on Firefox 3.5 Review:

Private Browsing Mode – If you value privacy over the web, let me introduce you to an interesting new feature of the Firefox 3.5 called ‘Private Browsing Mode’. Once you enable this mode, Firefox 3.5 will not save any cookies, web sites, or even any data that you have been through in your current session.

Forget this site – This feature lets you remove all the traces of a specific site from your browsing history. This could be very useful when you don’t want anyone to learn about the website you have visited, probably when you are buying a gift for someone.

Clear Recent History – Now you can choose between hours and days when you are forced to clear your recent browsing history for some despised reason. Let me elaborate this. The new Firefox 3.5 will feature a unique feature called ‘Clear Recent History’. The most unique part of this feature is that you can delete the recent history of up to last four hours without having to wipe off the entire history log.

Recently Closed Windows – Ever regretted closing an important window accidentally without even holding back the name of the site? Firefox 3.5 provides a solution to this problem. Firefox lets you quickly get back the recently closed windows just with a simple click and resume all important work that you abruptly left off.

Open video – With Firefox 3.5 you can directly open, play and download a video directly from the browser window without having to use an external application or any media player for the purpose.

Location Aware Browsing – Ask Firefox your location, it will identify your location and guide you through generated maps.

Other remarkable features include downloadable fonts, customizable browser interface through Personas, innumerous availability of add ons, and improvements like Web Worker Threads, SVG, JSON etc. The Firefox 3.5 comes with a storming support for 70 languages and much more innovative features.

Watch a quick video demo of Firefox 3.5.

The Sony PSP concept phone will be called Sony PSP Phone or better say Sony Ericsson PSP Phone for it will inherit all the gaming lineaments of the Sony PSP brand family and yet be an Ericsson phone when you want.

It seems that the Sony PSP Phone will boast all the features of a smart phone as well as consume the traditional game sport of the Sony PSP. This will ease Sony’s job of converging the Sony PSP into a Sony Ericsson PSP Phone as the Sony already has support for a camera, Wi-Fi, music, video and a web browser in selective models and above all the best in the field gaming platform.

You can expect the Sony PSP Phone to support all or at least most of the PSP lineup of games. Even if it does not, Sony is already working on many new titles. If this is not enough, a lot of third party developers will probably arch the web with compatible games for the Sony PSP Phone once it is developed and launched.

Featured : Rumored PSP Phone Concept

Sony will probably have to put in stringent efforts to enhance battery backup time of the Sony Ericsson PSP Phone, add a lot more of internal memory or provide support for greater external storage options, perhaps digital memory like the Sony PSP Go. We may also expect the Sony Ericsson PSP Phone to flaunt touch screen sensitivity on its 3″ wide display.

This should definitely sound similar to Sony Ericsson’s recently launched F305 Gaming Phone. Is Sony planning to battle with Nokia’s N-gage platform? Will Sony PSP Phone will create a niche for itself in the market? Are they going to skim down the bulky PSP into a sleek and stylish PSP Phone?

Featured : Rumored PSP Phone Concept

There are many more questions in the air.It will be great if they plan to include GPS support as well to complete the Sony PSP Phone as an all-in-one gadget. But, it would be very waffling for us to report whether the Sony PSP Phone will be developed or not as the ties between Sony Corporation and Swedish mobile giant Ericsson are undecipherable and no official confirmations yet.

I’d rather address this Nokia Concept Phone as a Transformer Phone for the fact that the power of a projector, multi media device, and a smart phone are beautifully packed into one gadget.

The Nokia Pulse Phone

Yanko Designs, one of the most prominent name in concept gadgets designers, has come up with their latest Nokia Concept Phone, which uses a tiny LED projector that can be paired with the Nokia phone for operability or simply said, the mobile phone functions as a remote control to the Pulse.

Board meetings, conferences and project presentations are no more confined to conference halls. You can now call on a group discussion or a presentation on your latest project anywhere and everywhere by using the slides saved on your Nokia phone, lets your clients to have fly down there.

The Nokia Pulse Projector requires Pulse technology and uses a LED system based on DLP’s display technology for producing high quality imagery. All you need is just a flat surface, a wall or a table to start playing them from your Nokia and experience the rich 1000 ANSI lumens brightness that produces 16.7 million colors right from the lens of your Nokia Projector Phone.

Pictured: Nokia Pulse Typeset

Or would you like to multiply the entertainment experience by viewing images and videos on your mobile on a contrastingly large (15- to 60-inch images projected at 7.87 feet) display that should support a 1500:1 contrast ratio for WXGA (1280×768) resolution.

Nokia Pulse also functions as an NXT speaker with Dolby Sound to give you a rich sound quality.Below the rotating projector head are two web cameras, one on each side and a set of stereo microphones are closely secluded just next to it. Nokia Projector Phone also boasts a main power switch on one of its sides to switch the projector on and off.

Roleplay : Nokia Pusle Projector

The Nokia Pulse Projector needs to rest on a wireless charging station for a battery recharge and it is good to know that you will not have to tangle with the wires.

It is absolutely wireless and uses the Wi-Fi on your Nokia Cell Phone to upload videos, presentations and any other multimedia content that can be played on the Pulse Projector.

We have seen a few gadgets in the recent past that could be termed as mini or pocket able projectors. But this one is absolutely an eye catcher and an attention stealer. There are no any official announcements on whether the Nokia Pulse Projector would be developed or would it just remain a geek’s impractical dreamy possession. No concrete revelations yet.
